The IWA UK Committee invites Young Water Professionals (YWPs) to participate in the thrilling “Race to Toronto, on the Road to Glasgow” competition! Seize your chance to win up to £2000 to travel to the IWA World Water Congress and Exhibition in Toronto this August 2024. Two (2) lucky winners will receive subsidies helping with travel, accommodation, and event registration costs. 

This opportunity promises unparalleled insights into the international water sector and an enriching platform to expand your professional network. 

You will be tasked with sharing your adventures on social media, showcasing your growth and learnings while networking with global water professionals and meeting leaders from the UK and beyond. 

Dr Natalie Lamb, IWA YWP UK Chapter Chair and upcoming member of the IWA YWP Steering Committee for the term 2024-2026 (plus Co-Chair of the Institute of Water YWP National) will be attending the event to represent the UK YWP community. She will be available to those who are successful in the run-up to and during the event. 

Before entering, ensure you have any necessary permissions to be able to travel. The IWA, the IWA UK Committee and the Institute of Water are not responsible for securing VISA for the winners.  

This competition is open only to members of the IWA and IoW Young Water Professionals Communities, defined as those with active membership to either of the professional bodies (membership status will be verified), aged 35 years old or younger. To apply you must be based in or from the United Kingdom. 

To enter you must complete the entry form by 17 June, Monday including the provision of a one-page summary covering: 

• Why you should be selected to attend 
• What you will gain from attending the conference 
• What you will do to share your learning and experiences of IWA both during and after the event 
• Your plans for embracing the adventure through your travels
