Water Career Story: Rose Kaggwa

Dr. Rose Kaggwa, the recipient of the IWA Women in Water Award 2016, describes her Water Career Story in the water sector and the importance of recognising and nurturing talented young women in the workforce. Dr. Rose Kaggwa has worked in various management levels within National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) in Uganda and is currently the Director Business and Scientific Services. In this role she is responsible for Water Quality Management, Training and Capacity Development, Research, and Development and External Services, which is the NWSC Consultancy unit that she has led for the last 13 years. Dr. Kaggwa has over 26 years’ experience in the water sector and has been a key player in the various performance improvement approaches applied in the NWSC at both managerial and supervisory level. At IWA, she is Vice Chairperson of the Intermittent Water Supply (IWS) Specialist Group and a recognised IWA Fellow.
