Biography

Malini Ghosh is a Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering at Western University (Canada). Malini also holds a B.Sc in Chemistry (Honours) and B.Tech in Chemical Engineering from the University of Calcutta (India). She is the recipient of the 2018 Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS) and the 2017 Queen Elizabeth II Graduate Scholarship in Science and Technology (QEII-GSST). Her research investigates the process of dye-sensitization and development of new dye-sensitized photocatalysts for solar light driven photocatalytic water treatment. Her research also encompasses the application of Ferrate [Fe (VI)] for degradation of emerging pollutants. She is also studying the application of Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) and Life Cycle Impact Assessment (LCIA) for advanced oxidation processes in water treatment. Her focus besides her professional development as a research scholar, is to develop a professional network within the water industry and also encourage future students to take up water research as a career path.

Malini is the Event Lead of the Local Organising Committee of the IWA International Young Water Professionals Conference.
