New IWA Governing Member in Bolivia

The International Water Association’s global network is growing and becoming more diverse, with the latest addition being a new Governing Member in Bolivia, strengthening the Association’s reach.

“IWA’s Governing Members are vital to our work, and we are extremely pleased to have Bolivia join our global network and to add participation from what is an important region regarding future water developments” comments Kala Vairavamoorthy, IWA Executive Director

“As Governing Members in Bolivia, we believe it is essential to gather professionals in our country who can solve the water crisis using the latest science, knowledge and work experience within a framework of sustainability. IWA provides support and access to the most appropriate technological tools for a water-wise future,” adds Cecilia Soto, Chair of the Bolivia Governing Member.

Joining IWA as a Governing Member is a way to partner with IWA to strengthen the national or regional water professional network and its capacities through exposure to international experiences, knowledge and capacity building, while enhancing the opportunities for the national water professionals to develop their international networks, showcase national expertise, and develop their thought leadership.

Governing Members are at the heart of building IWA’s vision of a water-wise world, forming the key building blocks of the Association. They represent IWA on the ground at the national and regional level, convening people locally to share best practice and explore new ways of innovating on water solutions. In partnership with the wider IWA, they work towards achieving the IWA Vision of a network of water professionals striving for a world in which water is managed wisely, sustainably and equitably.
