Join IWA at the Water Climate Discussion Conference

Join IWA at the forthcoming Water Climate Discussion Conference, which takes place on 5, 12 and 19 October 2021. On Day 1, IWA Executive Director Kala Vairavamoorthy will provide an introductory keynote speech about the main water and climate issues such as adaptation & resilience, nature based solutions, energy transitions, clean transport and finance.

“Due to the importance of this topic for our sector, IWA was extremely happy to join the other water institutions who have co-organised the Water Climate discussion series over the past months to deliver one simple yet powerful message: water is climate, which is to say the climate crisis is a water crisis.” Kala Vairavamoorthy, IWA Executive Director | Keynote Speaker

This three-day online event involving more than 10 water organisations offers a chance for the water sector to get together and collaborate on key topics related to the climate and water crisis in the run up to COP26 in November 2021.

“Collaboration is one of the four COP26 goals. Join us in this unique opportunity to enhance water sector collaboration on climate change.” – Martin Currie, Water Quality & Treatment Consultant | Conference Organiser

The rich conference programme includes roundtable discussions to identify issues and solutions, small group discussions, and networking tools to foster collaboration between water professionals and organisations across every possible water climate solution. One of the main objectives of the conference is to come together with one voice for COP26.  To do this, participants will be able to work collectively to draft a Water Climate Call to Action.
