Darryl Day re-elected as IWA Australia President

International Centre of Excellence in Water Resources Management (ICE WaRM) Managing Director Darryl Day has been re-elected President of the International Water Association’s Australian National Committee.

Darryl is also the Co-Chair of the 2018 IWA/PUB Water Convention Programme Committee for the Singapore International Water Week – Water Convention, the leading biannual conference water conference on water science and practice in the Asia-Pacific region.

In 2015 Darryl was also appointed as a Fellow of the International Water Association, further demonstrating his leadership in the water sector both nationally and globally.

Committee Vice President Kathryn Silvester said countless members of the water sector have greatly benefitted from Darryl’s guidance and encouragement over the years.

In taking on the role, Darryl expressed his thanks to Professor Paul Greenfield, President of the Host Committee; Mark Pascoe, fellow Deputy President of the Host Committee; Tom Mollenkopf Senior Vice President of IWA; the Host Country Committee and the past IWA Australia National Committee, in delivering the IWA Brisbane World Water Congress and Exhibition in October last year. The Host Committee and National Committee combined to showcase Australia’s extraordinary capability and deliver one of the best Congress and Exhibitions in the history of IWA.

“He is a key leader in the water sector, having driven incredible change throughout his career, and I look forward to continuing working with him on the IWA Australian committee over the next two years.”
