The IWA Climate Smart Utilities Recognition Programme aims to inspire water, wastewater, and urban drainage utilities to be increasingly Climate Smart and to embrace the cultural shift on three interconnected pillars for action: climate adaptation, mitigation, and leadership.

The IWA Climate Smart Utilities initiative invites utilities who are already taking any kind of climate smart action to apply to the IWA recognition programme, as part of the Climate Smart journey.

Do not miss this chance to showcase climate action within the water sector! Applications for the recognition programme are closing soon on 30 June 2022, utilities are invited to submit an application before then. Eligible utilities will be invited to share their successes and experiences at the IWA World Water Congress & Exhibition in Copenhagen, Denmark (11-15 September 2022). A travel grant is available to support promising utilities in emerging economies.

This first edition is brought to the water community thanks to the support of Xylem. Submissions will be assessed by an independent panel.
