An estimated 2.5 billion people lack access to improved sanitation. The lack of adequate sanitation is a public health and human right concern and contributes to the spread of water-borne diseases in many low and middle-income countries. Better understanding of the WASH sector is needed, together with focused knowledge exchange on an international level in order to find sustainable WASH solutions globally.
As we approach the 2030 SDGs deadline, increased understanding and dialogue amongst YWPs around the world on WASH challenges can play a vital role, particularly as COVID-19 has compounded these existing concerns.
The purpose for this episode of YWP Get-Together is for the IWA Young Water Professionals from all over the world to review the current sanitation context and collaborate on developing solutions. Through this online gathering, YWPs will discuss approaches for tackling sanitation challenges by applying leading-edge research and technologies, and share ideas for collaboration among young professionals in the WASH sector. Panellists will first share their experiences in WASH followed by a moderated discussion where participants can exchange insights and advanced knowledge in the sector. This is a unique opportunity to gather as a group, meet peers, make new friends, and talk about the topics we are all passionate about: a water-wise world!
This IWA Online Get-Together is for IWA Young Water Professional members only.
This IWA YWP online Get-Together is a part of series of online meetings developed for the IWA Young Water Professionals community. It offers an interactive platform where the IWA YWP members meet, talk and share their insights. They come together to exchange their experiences and ideas on how to contribute to the global IWA network, the IWA Communities, Task Forces, and the IWA conferences and congresses.
