Dr Isabela Espindola is a Senior Officer at the International Water Association (IWA), where she leads the engagement of the Young Water Professionals (YWPs) Community and the Water Policy and Regulation agenda. She has over 10 years of experience in international relations, sustainable development, youth engagement, international cooperation, human rights, and international development, with a focus on water resources.
She holds a PhD in Human Geography from the University of Sao Paulo, where she researched South America’s transboundary water governance and management. She also has an MSc in Environmental Sciences and a BA in International Relations and Economics. She is passionate about advancing the role and voice of women and youth in the water sector, especially in the global arena. She has been a member and organizer of various youth volunteer organizations and initiatives in the fields of water, women in science, and the environment.
