Sikandar Meeranaik is the 2019 recipient of the IWA Water and Development Award for Practice. Sikandar founded the Sankalpa Rural Development Society in 2008 to assist the farmers in the rural areas of India. During the Development Congress, Sikandar stated that he is hopeful to take the Twin Ring method and other rainwater harvesting techniques abroad so it can help those who need it most.
