2019 Innovation Conference on Sustainable Wastewater Treatment and Resource Recovery
Tongji University, in collaboration with the International Water Association (IWA), are hosting the 2019 IWA Conference on Advanced Wastewater Treatment and Resource Recovery
With the population growth and economic development, eutrophication has become a major problem in waterbodies around the world, and nutrient is a key factor resulting in this. Thus, nutrient removal has become one of the key challenges for wastewater treatment facilities. In addition to removal, nutrient recovery from wastewater is providing sustainable paths within a treatment plant. As the paradigm includes circular carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus approaches, new research and practice are needed to discover and to implement innovative technologies that make up such circular approaches. The conference will be an international meeting point for scientists, engineers, managers, and entrepreneurs. It will provide an opportunity to review and assess research, engineering and management practices on wastewater treatment and resource recovery for the past years, and inspire novel sparks for the new generation of wastewater treatment process for nutrient removal and resource recovery. Aiming at this, 2019 IWA Conference on advanced Wastewater Treatment and Resource Recovery will be held in Shanghai, China over 25-28 November 2019.
Welcome from Chair of 2019 IWA Conference on advanced Wastewater Treatment and Resource Recovery. We sincerely invite submissions of extended abstracts for this exciting event.
The Program Committee is calling for submissions of high-quality, original and previously unpublished research in the theory, practice, and application of Sustainable Wastewater Treatment and Resource Recovery. The conference will focus on both fundamental and applied research, and applications of technologies in designing, operation, modelling, and optimization of wastewater treatment systems.
Topics
- Nitrogen removal and recovery from main and solids treatment line
- Phosphorous removal and recovery
- Novel nutrient removal technologies for low C/N wastewater
- Carbon management for nutrient removal and recovery
- Modelling, optimisation and control of NRR and full plant flowsheets especially considering different C/N/P ratios and inerts
- Energy saving and economic consideration of NRR processes
- Regulatory improvement and upgrade of the NRR processes
- Nutrient polishing and/or its interface with water reuse
