Background

The IWA Digital Water Programme (DWP) acts as a catalyst for innovation, knowledge and best practice. It provides a platform to share experiences, promotes leadership in transitioning to digital water solutions and consolidates lessons to guide utilities during their digital transformation.

To ensure wider engagement with IWA members on digital water, the DWP is encouraging the formation of regional and topical subgroups where members can share experiences, identify gaps, and come up with efficient solutions on a specific topic.

The IWA Digital Water India subgroup has a regional emphasis where members can exchange knowledge, pinpoint gaps, and develop effective digital solutions for India. The proposed goal of the sub-group is to use digital tools and technologies, such as artificial intelligence, data analytics, machine learning, augmented and virtual reality, digital twins, etc., to address problems in the water sector throughout India (and potentially South-East Asia as well). To encourage the Digital Water Revolution in India, the sub-group will also draw on the worldwide IWA knowledge base and expertise.
