Regina Gnirss
Director of Kompetenzzentrum Wasser Berlin; R&D department, Berliner Wasserbetriebe

Regina Gnirss has a Civil Engineering background with experience in Research and Innovation management with national and international funding, water and wastewater treatment technologies, stormwater treatment, adaptation to climate change in urban areas, advanced wastewater treatment and energy optimisation. Regina has published more than 70 peer-reviewed articles, conference papers and German scientific journals. She has occupied the role of Project Manager for many private, nationals and EU funded projects.
Outside of academics, Regina has been a member of The German Association of Water, Wastewater and Waste (DWA) working groups Wastewater Disinfection and Membrane Bioreactor. She has also been a member of IWA’s working group Membrane Filtration, and more ancillary activities.

Currently, Regina is the Director of the R&D Department of Berliner Wassertriebe as well as Kompetenzzentrum Wasser Berlin.
