Paul Bell
Interim Communications & Engagement Director

Biography

Paul has a background in communications and advocacy for change, joining IWA in March 2014. He previously worked on a number of social change and human rights campaigns in the not-for-profit sector, working with businesses, international organisations, governments and civil society groups. Buy him a drink and he’ll tell you about the delights of lobbying the US Congress on the merits of funding international family planning programmes.

Paul has responsibility for delivering the IWA’s converged (traditional and social) media strategy, and content and messaging strategy. This involves establishing the IWA as the global reference point for international news, business and trade media on issues addressing all aspects of the water cycle. He provides communications guidance and support to IWA’s Board and Executive Management, as well as for programmes and events. He has led the redevelopment and relaunch of both the IWA website and the IWA magazine, The Source.

He brings extensive external affairs experience delivering strategic communications and campaigns for a range of complex organisations, large and small; developing and implementing communications strategies to raise organisational profile and protect reputation amongst key stakeholder groups; and delivering campaign goals and supporting donor relations across a range of not-for-profit and non-governmental organisations.
