Larissa T. Arashiro

Larissa is an Environmental Engineer with professional experience in corporate Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety management systems. In 2015, she obtained her joint Master degree in Environmental Technology and Engineering from University of Ghent, Unesco-IHE (Delft) and University of Chemistry and Technology (Prague). During this programme, she carried out a research project addressing modelling of nitrogen removal from wastewater using microalgae, with focus in water and energy recovery. Larissa is currently working for the Water Supply and Sanitation Services Programme at IWA, contributing to projects related to sanitation safety planning and coastal flood risk management. She believes the experience at IWA will help her to better understand the dynamics of international projects, as well as applying her knowledge and expanding the network in the water sector.
