Biography
Kirsten is the Acting Director of Leadership Engagement – managing the team that works on engaging our members in a meaningful way to contribute to a water-wise world. We are also developing new forms of engagement adapting to the needs created by current global challenges (ie. Online Panels, Webinars, Online Dialogues).
She joined IWA in 2009, with a background in International Business Administration, and Development Sociology, with the main motivation to contribute to changing societal behaviour and professional development in the water sector. Throughout her IWA career and various roles, she has become an expert in capacity Development in the water sector, stakeholder management and knowledge production. Respectively, she led on IWA’s work on assessment, planning and development of human resource capacities, managed many communities and meetings for our members (ie. the Young Water Professionals Network, the Fellows Community), coordinated IWA’s research on women professionals in urban water sector, led IWA’s work on Water Safety Planning and Operation and Maintenance.
