Biography
Accounts for an extensive career of more than 40 years and is currently President of AySA, company that provides water and sanitation in the City of Buenos Aires and 26 Municipalities of the Buenos Aires Province, Argentina, area that includes 14 million inhabitants.
Graduated with honours at the Engineering School of the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina, he obtained the Postgraduate diploma in Sanitary Engineering through a scholarship of Obras Sanitarias de la Nación in 1973. For his background in Sanitary Engineering, he was awarded the National Academy Prize “Ing. Enrique Butty”.
In his professional career he directed more than 750 studies and projects for the provision of water, sanitation and environmental improvements in Latin America and Africa, with financing from the IDB/WB and other multilateral credit agencies. He has been speaker at Seminars on sanitary services and benchmarking in Sao Paulo (Brazil), Tegucigalpa (Honduras), San José (Costa Rica), Mendoza (Argentina), Buenos Aires (Argentina), Lima (Perú) and Cartagena (Colombia), besides presiding the Argentine Congresses of Sanitation and Environment in 1997,1999 and 2002 and the Congress and Exhibition of the International Water Association (IWA) – Water and Development in Buenos Aires, Argentina (2017).
It should be noted that he has been President of AIDIS Argentina and Vice President of
AIDIS Interamericana as well as co-creator of the Junior Water Prize.
