Biography

Chunyan Chai is a Program Manager based in IWA Nanjing Office. She worked as the director of International Cooperation at Jiangsu Yixing Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) Academy of Environment, mainly responsible for technology transfer in water and wastewater treatment. Before that, during 2007 and 2012, Chunyan worked for Environmental Defense Fund as the program manager in Climate Change and Corporate Partnership. Ms. Chai is the holder of PhD in environmental engineering from HIT and M.S. in environmental policy from Bard College in U.S. Her background in both environmental policy and technology together with the working experiences in both Chinese and American teams could help her new explorations to water industry innovation and transformation at IWA.
