Caterina is a young environmental engineer, passionately working at the boundary between engineering and social sciences.
She holds a BSc degree in Environmental Engineering from ‘La Sapienza’ University of Rome, and an MSc in Water Resources Management from Delft University of Technology, complemented with Master studies in Cultural Anthropology and Development Sociology at Leiden University. She worked at TU Delft as a student assistant and young engineer for different research projects in the Netherlands, Italy and Ghana.
She joined IWA as an intern in 2017, working in the Water Policy and Regulation unit. She is now supporting the development of learning and professional activities for IWA’s Young Water Professionals, focusing on the specific competencies that the youth need in order to cope with emerging needs and challenges in the water sector.
As a water engineer, she strives to bridge science, policy and communities in the same processes, always considering water as a force of social change and resource to be protected and used wisely.
