Biography

Benedetta joined IWA in 2021 and is currently supporting the communications team as Communications & Advocacy Specialist (Consultant). She is responsible for the daily management of external relations and communications at IWA, including press, social media, reports, publications and more.  Her role ensures that water issues are prioritised in the media and in the global agenda. She is passionate about advocacy, politics and policy. She is dedicated to advancing IWA’s programmes, especially on climate smart utilities, regulation & governance, and on inclusive urban sanitation, working closely with the respective teams in order to shape and deliver impactful initiatives.

She has prior experience working in international and sustainable development in the non-profit sector, including other NGOs, and the UN Secretariat for the Convention on Biological Diversity.

She has an MA in Social Policy from the University of Bologna (2023), an MSc in Public Policy and Governance from the University of Amsterdam (2017), and a BSc Hons in International Politics from City University of London (2016).
