Andrea Cominola is an Assistant Professor and head of the Smart Water Networks group at the Technische Universität Berlin and Einstein Center Digital Future. He was awarded a PhD in Information Technology at Politecnico di Milano (2017) and a double MSc degree in Environmental and Land Planning Engineering at Politecnico di Milano and Politecnico di Torino (2013). Prof. Dr. Cominola’s research focuses on urban water systems modelling and management, leakage and anomaly detection, behavioral modelling, data mining, and machine learning for water and coupled human-environment systems analysis. He is author of more than 100 scientific contributions in peer-reviewed international journals, book chapters, and publications/presentations in international conferences. He is the current Chair of the EGU Program Committee on Water policy, management and control and an Associate Editor for the Journal of Water Resources Planning and Management. Among other recognitions, in 2020 he was awarded an Early Career Research Excellence biennial award by the International Environmental Modelling and Software Society.
