The 2nd IWA Conference on Sustainable Natural and Engineered Water Systems Management
The 2nd IWA Sustainable Natural and Engineered Water Systems Management (2nd IWA SWSM-2024) conference will be held during October 18-21, 2024 at the Jianguo Hotel in Xi’an. This conference is a periodical international symposium on research and developments for sustainable water management. The 1st IWA SWSM conference was held at the Pathumwan Princess Hotel of Bangkok on December 13-16, 2023.
This conference will be hosted by Shaanxi University of Science and Technology, co-organized by Yan’an University, “Northwest Ecological Environmental Materials and Technology” Innovation and Talent Introduction Base, “Ecological Environmental Materials and Green Low-Carbon Technology” International Science and Technology Cooperation Base. The honorary chairmen of the conference are Prof. Jincai Zhao (Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences) and Prof. Detlef Bahnemann (Academician of the European Academy of Sciences), and the chairmen of the conference are Professor Chuanyi Wang (FRSC, FIAAM, Life FRSA, Full Member of European Academy of Natural Sciences, Member of IWA) and Professor Virender Sharman (FRSC, Fellow of European Academy of Sciences, Member of IWA).
The theme of 2nd IWA SWSM will be the sustainable pollutant control technologies in natural and engineered water systems. Branch venues will be established around the following topics:
- Sustainable urban water systems management and climate change impacts
- Source control of antibiotic residues, EDCs, microplastics and PFAS
- Environmental technologies for pollutant management
- Prevalence of emerging pollutants in drinking water and reclaimed water
The conference format includes plenary sessions, themed and invited lectures, oral discussions, posters, and exhibitions. The conference aims to provide a platform to share the latest scientific and practical knowledge on occurrence of contaminants of emerging concern in natural and engineered water systems and environmental technologies that promote sustainable water system management. Xi’an, where the conference will be held, was the ancient capital of the thirteen dynasties and the starting point of the Silk Road. Warmly welcome all professionals, students and engineers in different sectors to gather in beautiful Chang’an, and the 2nd IWA SWSM2024 will give you a rich and memorable experience.
