12th International Water Association Symposium on Waste Management Problems in Agro-Industries
The idea of providing a scientific basis for solving environmental problems in agro-industries under the leadership of Turkish National Committee on Water Pollution Research and Control (IWA Turkey) initiated the First International Symposium on Waste Management Problems in Agro-Industries held in Istanbul in 1989. The wide interest and high quality contributions of participating scientists established a series of IWA symposia, with ten more events held in İstanbul, Mexico City, Shiga, Seoul, Amsterdam, Çeşme, Rhodos, and Gdansk, contributing to sustainable waste management in agro-industries for 35 years.
The “12th IWA International Symposium on Waste Management Problems in Agro-Industries” will be organized once again, after a long time, in İstanbul, the fascinating historical city, by Prof. Işık Kabdaşlı and Prof. Taku Fujiwara as co-chairs. The symposium will be an exciting scientific event covering a broad range of topics from conventional physico-chemical and biological treatment practices to climate change mitigation and adaptation, with specific emphasis on circular economy, life cycle assessment, resource recovery and waste valorisation applications within Water-Energy-Food (WEF) Nexus. The upcoming AGRO’2025 is expected to attract many researchers, industry leaders and public authorities all around the world with its proven success in the previous Agro Symposia.
