Prof. Benedito Braga, President of the World Water Council, was a keynote at the 2017 #DevelopmentCongress, where he stresses the need to increase our resilience to climate and provide water security for all. Defining water security shows that developing countries are the most in need: "With a better understanding of the impacts of man-made changes in the natural environment, the current challenge of sustainable development is to use the natural environment in the least impacting way for the benefit of communities." To put in perspective the importance of a holistic approach across sectors for global water security involving communities, professionals and decision makers, the participants of the 2017 IWA Water and Development Congress are invited to participate in the 8th World Water Forum which will be held on 18 - 23 March 2018 in Brasilia, Brazil.
