Water Innovation, Critical to Addressing Water Challenges Across Asia Pacific and East Asia Regions

The International Water Association Product Innovation Awards…making a splash at the Singapore International Water Week

Singapore, 29.05.14 – The water sector is facing unprecedented global challenges, urgent and innovative action is necessary if we are to secure our water future and meet the needs of billions of global citizens. The International Water Association Project Innovation Awards are a prestigious global competition that recognises and promotes innovation and excellence in water management.

The IWA Project Innovation Awards for the Asia Pacific and East Asia regions will be presented to outstanding water engineering projects that are providing real solutions and efficiency, economic and health benefits throughout the water cycle.

The Asia Pacific and East Asia regions are facing some of the most pressing water challenges. Water is seen as one of the critical risks facing both regions today and in the future. Cities, industry, agriculture and nature all compete for ever more scarce water resources around the world.

In the near future, water will determine how economic development, human well-being and environmental sustainability will be achieved. Innovating in water services, management and technologies will be critical to meeting the needs of the future.
